    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Jill graduated from SUNY Delhi in May of 2004. After college she worked for Dr. Lucia Roberts outside of Lowville, NY for a little under a year. It was this small animal hospital that got her started on the right foot towards her future in veterinary medicine. During that time Jill learned what it was like to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) at a single veterinarian practice.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Melisa graduated from SUNY Delhi with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Science in 1998. She is a member of the New York State Association of Veterinary Technicians and the American Animal Hospital Association. She worked as a veterinary technician in the Binghamton area for 8 years. She moved to Oneida in 2006 and started working for Village Veterinary Hospital. Some of her special interests in the veterinary field include laboratory testing, puppy/kitten client education and behavioral medicine and methods. Melisa and her husband have one son, two dogs, 3 cats, and a fresh water aquarium. They enjoy camping, fishing, country line dancing and she enjoys all things "crafty".

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Kim graduated summa cum laude from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York with an Associates in Science in Veterinary Technology. She worked at a veterinary clinic in Buffalo before coming to the Central New York area to work here at Village Veterinary Hospital. She especially enjoys working in the lab and caring for the in hospital patients. Kim is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Jennifer is a licensed veterinary technician with a degree from MVCC in Applied Science (1990) and Veterinary Technology at SUNY Delhi (1993). She worked at an all feline practice before coming to work at VVH in 2003. Jennifer has a special interest in surgery, nutrition and Western Medicine. She recently attended the University of Tennessee's Canine Rehabilitation Program and is now a CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner). She has begun a Rehabilitation and Conditioning Program here at VVH. Please visit her web page, in our "Services" menu on the left, for more information. Jennifer and her husband, Bill, have a daughter, Ivy and two twin boys, John and James. They also have two rabbits, Curious and George and two dogs, Millie and Mickey. When she's not at work she enjoys camping, touring with Bill on their motorcycle and spending time with the family. "There are very few places I enjoy as much as being at work."

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Donna is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who started working at VVH in 1993. She graduated from SUNY Delhi in 1988. Donna has been very active in training and showing dogs in agility, obedience and conformation for many years. Currently she holds four titles in agility, 3 AX's and an AXJ and is working on a MX, MXJ and utimately a MACH. She has obtained nine titles in obedience; 7 CD's and 2 CDX's and is currently working on utility. Donna and her husband Phil live in Canastota and have two daughters. They also have 3 Australian Shepherds, two cats and one horse. In her "spare time" she enjoys spending time with her girls.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Darlene is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She attended SUNY-Morrisville where she received an Associates Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science. She received her degree in Veterinary Technology at Harcum College in Pennsylvania. Darlene worked at the New Bolton Equine Center in PA before coming here to VVH in 2005. Her favorite positions here at VVH are working in the lab and surgery but she especially enjoys general support (of which she is excellent at!). She is married with one child, three Blue Tick Coonhounds, one horse and one cat. She enjoys horseback riding, snowmobiling, taking long walks with her dogs and is also a member of her local volunteer fire department.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Jennifer is a licensed veterinary technician who started here at VVH in 2008. She is a graduate of SUNY Delhi, class of 2003. Before coming to VVH, she worked at Burrstone Animal Hospital and the Rome Area Veterinary Emergency Clinic as a veterinary technician. Jennifer recently completed a course at the University of Tennessee and is now a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP). She enjoys working in surgery and rehab and is a member of the New York State Association of Veterinary Technicians. Jennifer is married and has one son, 2 cats, Hercules and Maverick and one dog named Sakari. She enjoys reading, music and cooking.

  • Karen
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Karen grew up in New Hampshire where she attended the University of New Hampshire and received an Associates Degree in Applied Animal Science. While in New Hampshire she worked for a local veterinary hospital for three years in the kennel and then as an assistant. Along with the routine care of cats and dogs, she also worked with the doctors and other assistants on rehabilitating wild animals and working with the local zoo on tigers and flamingos. Karen started working here at the Village Veterinary Hospital after moving to New York in 1989. She received an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Some of her special interests include surgery, nursing care and laboratory procedures. She enjoys flower and vegetable gardening and vacationing in Maine. Karen also enjoys hand spinning her alpaca fiber into yarn and needle felting and wet felting with alpaca fiber. She has two cats, Milo and Cosmo, a Guinea Pig named Ernie and five alpacas.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Stacy graduated from Cicero North Syracuse High School and then from SUNY Delhi with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2001. She has worked here at VVH since 2001 and has a special interest in dentistry, behavior and surgery. She attended a continuing education seminar at SUNY Ulster and studied behavior, dentistry and laboratory procedures. Stacy also loves agility and works with Pawsitively Awesome, Syracuse Obedience Training Club (SOTC) and Dotties Dog School, where she also teaches classes. (See our "Obedience/Training" page in our Pet Library.) She and her husband Ryan own a home in E. Syracuse and have one daughter, Lauren. They also have three Australian Shepherds, Zeke, Indigo and Chatter and one cat, Tinkerbell. Stacy is a member of SOTC, NYSAVT and competes with her Aussies in Excellent A agility and CPE events.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Kelly started here at VVH in 1992 working in the kennel. She went on to graduate from SUNY Canton and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She loves working in surgery. She is very good at organizing the surgery day and keeping the doctors on task. Kelly lives in Verona and has three children, Andrew, Kiersten and Benjamin. She also has two cats and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Topsy. Kelly has been involved in karate since she was in Junior High and obtained her black belt in karate in High School. She is currently teaching karate and participating in classes in Rome. Her daughter Kiersten is following suit and has her Blue belt so far.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Cathy has been with us since 2005. She is a licensed veterinary technician and a groomer. Cathy is a graduate of Oneida High School and received her degree in veterinary technology from Cedar College in Texas. Her favorite thing about working at VVH is - everything! Cathy and her significant other, Jim, live in Oneida and have a Welsh terrier named Georgie Anna. They also have three cats, Jelly, Henry and Flower. Cathy and Jim used to breed and show Dalmatians. Their dog, Jarrod, was an American Canadian Champion, finishing in one month! She enjoys fishing, gardening and reading. She especially enjoys reading Western novels and has over 300 of them. She freezes, cans and dries much of the fruits and veggies she grows.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Tammy is a veterinary assistant who started working at VVH in December of 1996. Tammy graduated from Morrisville College with an Associates in Applied Science, majoring in equine science. Tammy loves working with all the animals here at VVH. She has a special interest in helping them maintain a good quality of life through her knowledge and experience. Tammy and her husband Bob, live in Vernon and have a daughter, Madison, and a son, Zachary. They have one dog: a Golden Retreiver named Max and a tiger and white kitty named Walter. Tammy and her family enjoy horse riding, swimming, riding bikes, gardening, snowmobiling, down hill skiing, camping and pretty much anything outdoors.

    Pharmacy Manager

    Julie is the Pharmacy Manager here at VVH. She enjoys her job, the animals, clients, and her co-workers. In 1999, she graduated with honors from LeMoyne College and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing and a Minor in both Art and Psychology. In 2001, she graduated from Cazenovia College with a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Business Management and an Associate's Degree in Stable and Farm Management. Julie has interned at an Olympic barn and a top Hanoverian breeding farm. She has also been a working student for an FEI Dressage Trainer.
